Dan’s Top 10 marriage tips for the newly wed husband.
A friend came up with this list so I thought I share it with you all:
- Occasionally the husband should surprise his wife by tea bagging her first thing in the morning.
- “Spice” up an evening by weeing on each other.
- Don’t be afraid to strike your wife every so often… The phrase “bring your face over here” should be adopted.
- Foreplay should only last 1/2 the time it takes you to shower.
- Lightly trim ear hair every 3 -4 weeks.
- Touching the mother law is frowned upon but can be used to deflect from unwarranted situations.
- Listen to your wife’s mundane stories from time to time. Do not make a habit out it though.
- Dance naked to the tune of you breaking wind every Easter.
- If she has a sister it’s expected you make “advances” at family gathering. It’s part of the whole package.
- Finally, if caught masturbating, carry on until she offers a “helping hand”. If she doesn’t, revert to point 3 as above.
Normal service will resume shortly.
Dark Night of the Soul CANNED!

The last time Dangermouse and Sparklehorse got together was on the brilliant ‘Dreamt for lightyears in the belly of a Mountain’ which has become one of my favourite albums. When the mysterious posters started appearing I got excited. So to hear that this brilliant album may never be officially released due to issues with the record label is just rubbish. Therefore I feel you all need to hear the album (by visiting here or maybe even here) and buy the book / cd-r package. Trust me you do want to.
“Said I’ve seen your picture on a $100 bill…”
5 years ago, Elliott Smith died. His death is probably the only ‘celebrity’ death where I can say I know exactly where I was and what I was doing when I found out (putting out CDs in hight street ‘music retailer’). For better or for worse, he was is one of my favourite song writers and his music has meant a lot to me over the years. Here’s a short article from the LAist on his life from SPIN.com on the circumstances leading up to his death.
Cheers for the music Elliott.

Niggy Tardust
For what it’s worth I BOUGHT this album and love it!
Edit: The flash player thing that was here for that was in this post for Saul Williams’ ‘Niggy Tardust’ has been taken down. Still worth getting though!
Foo Fighters vs Prince
I was talking to someone last night and and we got on to the subject of whether or not the Foo’s had lost it. Now, I’m a pretty big Foo Fighters fan, but I was being told that after ‘The Color And The Shape’ they kind of lost it. My friend then went on to say that Prince’s Suberbowl 2007 cover of Best Of You was better than the original.
So I’m mulling this over (with my chipped tooth after hitting myself in the face with a mic and at a gig last night) and I still have to say ……No. The Foo’s are still great. And maybe I do like the MOR acoustic stuff too much but hey, such is life. So here – Dave’s acoustic version of ‘Times Like These’ from One By One:

Gears Of War TV Ad
I know TV ads are a strange thing to post but I thought the combination of the game FMV and the Gary Jules version of Mad World (from Donnie Darko) in this Xbox 360 trailer was genius. Fair play to them for trying something a bit jarring and different I say!
Edit 26/10/08: Finally got round to playing (and completing) the game. Can’t wait for the sequel!
Soon it will be gone forever…..
Wow that’s an ominious title for a post isn’t it? I have potsed on here for a while so I thought I would now so here goes. Not that much is happening but you never know as you type.
Music? Well I’m getting more and more in to Reason. I should have a new track finished off tonight which is actually a rehash of an old track but I’ll stick both up for ‘compare and contrast purpsoes’ I think. The new version has some pretty cool sounding strings on it which I like.
CD’s? For some reason I got the legacy edtion of Jeff Buckley’s Grace the other day. It’s weird becuase I originally was against getting it but I guess now I’m really glad I did. If you haven’t heard it, check out the road version of Eternal Life on disc 2. The documentary in the set has a small snippett of Jeff playing Cherub Rock and it kind of spills in to this version of Eternal life. Not a bad thing in my book.
And obviously there’s been the New deftones Album ‘Saturday Night Wrist’ to listen to which is actually better than I thought it would be which is a HUGE relief! CHINO CHINO CHINO!!!!!
Proper post and more tunes soon.
